Russell and I went and tried out a local joint called The Buttered Biscuit.  Amazing.  Good, homecooked, yummy food!  And, my favorite part...they have a kids play area with a kid sized doorway...so the kids can go play while waiting for your food!

We also went and tried Farrelli's.  It's a local pizza place.  Honestly, we had been there when we first moved in almost 5 years ago and were unimpressed.  But, keep hearing good things about it.  So we tried it again...it was very good...but for a pizza place a little to pricey for our tastes!

A couple weekends back, we met a few families at a local breakfast joint called Mrs. Turner's.  Good, old fashioned, home made food.  The kids LOVED the strawberry pancakes...and I loved that they had a Monte Cristo sandwich!

This month, I made a recipe called Cavatini.  It's pretty much a glorified spaghetti but with rigatoni noodles and pepperoni....it was a hit!

Today I had the kids annual bunny pictures taken!  Yuen Lui does Easter pictures with bunnies from the Humane Society.  The kids love it...and I get adorable pictures!  I should have them back in a couple weeks...so check back for them!

We've been wanting a new TV for our bedroom....for very different reasons!  Me, I wanted one we could hang on the wall so I could rearrange and actually decorate our bedroom..Russell, he wanted a new TV that wasn't over 20 years old and as huge as a small car!  lol

We've been shopping on and off for a good deal and when we were in Video Only just price shopping the manager offered us a deal we just couldn't pass up.  The TV is bigger then I had wanted...but Russell is just fine with it!

#91- February Picture

Here's the February picture of the kiddos!

Hey, in this house, with a 2 year old and a 4 year old, we take what we can get!

My ears are SUPER sensitive...and all I can wear is gold.  I still am wearing the original earrings that I got my ears pierced with because I've never gone a purchased a new gold pair of earrings.  Forever ago I found these little .12 carat diamond earrings at the Shane Co. for like $95.  We got them yesterday!  The thing I love about the Shane Co. is that whenever I want to upgrade them they give me full value and I only have to spend $1 more....so I think once a year I'll go and upgrade them...eventually I'll have more then diamond dust in my ears!

For Valentine's Day I made a fancy dinner at home.  I made t-bone steaks and honey walnut shrimp.  Our FAVORITE chinese place makes these amazing Honey Walnut Prawns...so I was hoping to hit the nail on the head with the recipe.  It was good...just not as good as the chinese restaurant.  But definatly worth the try!

Nathan LOVED the steaks!  He grabbed the bones and ate any little nibble of meat he could find!

I surprised Hallie and took her to get her very first pedicure.  She LOVED it and the grin never left her face!  Now she wants to know when we can go back!

Here it begins!  My goal of taking a picture of the kids together once a month.  This is more of a challenge then one might think...they are 4 1/2 and 2 1/2.  Here was my first result:

Hey, they're in the same picture...that counts, right????

After some coaxing (offering them a sucker if they let mom get a picture), I got this one:

So this might be a little premature...but it's all good!

I bought tickets last night to go to the 5th Avenue Theater and see South Pacific.  I'm excited.  I've never seen South Pacific...but got an email for a killer deal on tickets...so I went for it.  I've always LOVED musicals...so I'm sure I'll love this one too.  I'm seeing it on Friday, February 19th at 1:30pm.

Vote!

Yup...I did it.  I always vote in the major elections, but often time let the littler elections pass me by...but not this time!
I got my ballot in the mail for the Orting School Levy....opened it up...voted and popped it back in the mail!

Postcrossing...have you heard of it?
You register yourself and it begins the exchange of postcards from around the world.  It's free...which is awesome!

I got my first 4 addresses for 4 different ladies they are from The Netherlands, Japan, Russia and Finland.  I picked up some Seattle postcards and Walmart and wrote them all a little note.  Today, I'm going up the street to the post office to get my international postcard stamps...they are about $1.00 each.  How this works is I have a postcard ID to put on the postcard.  Once it is recieved, they register the postcard and then my name goes onto the list to go to someone around the world to mail me a postcard.  They make it so you only send and recieve 1 from each country.  I'm looking forward to getting my first postcard!  I'll keep this updated!

#35- January's Recipe

Hallie loves homemade macaroni and cheese...loves it...would live on it...asks for it weekly.

This month I tried the mac & cheese recipe from The Pioneer Woman..it was in my new cookbook...which by the way I've made about 5 new recipes this month!

Here the recipe is online

http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/04/macaroni-cheese/

It's SO easy...and delicious.  I made it ahead of time and we baked it...but seriously...it should be eaten right after making it...it's so creamy and yummy...and trust me..this didn't help my weight loss goals in my 101!

Yesterday, I completed 1 task!

I went to see Jenn at Salon Parente.  She's a family friend, sort of.  She's the ex-girlfriend-now-married of one of my step brothers.

I sat down in her chair and she asked what I wanted...I said I have no idea.

She decided to trim about 4" off my hair, layer it a bit among other things.  Now it sits just above my shoulders...and I think I really like it.  I'll take a picture later and get it posted.

Now, it's more manageable and it's in a style that I get out of the shower, spray some product in it and go....having long hair seemed dumb when I always pulled it back...now I can leave it down more often!

My 101

So, on the right side of this page, you'll see a list of my 101 things to do in 1001 days.  What a challenge I have ahead...but nothing is out of the realm of possibility.  I'll be updating this blog as I complete a task and hopefully work away at my list to nothing!  Let's see if I can get it done!  As they get done, you'll see them crossed off and a date of completion next to them.

I'll update with photos as necessary...I'm actually looking forward to this....maybe I'll actually get to do some of those 'I wish' things!  Here's to the next 1001 days!

My start date is Friday, January 8th, 2010.

Completion Date:  October 5, 2012

The Challenge

The Challenge:

Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:

Tasks must be specific (i.e. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (i.e. represent some amount of work on your part). I will document, as best I can, the completion of each task.

Why 1001 Days?

Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple challenges such as New Year's resolutions or a 'Bucket List'. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.
